Sept 5th, 2011 - Firman RFR-011/F1000 Sets A New All-Time Track Record - Mission BC, Canada
On Monday Sept 5 2011 Alex Pate from Langley BC set a Mission Raceway Park track record this weekend during the Sport Car Club of BC's ICSCC Labor Daze Classic.
The car Alex was driving was a Suzuki motorcycle powered RFR1000 Formula B race car made in England.
The amazing part of this feat is that Alex entered this race as a novice, first time ever in this car, and has not been in a race car for 11 years since his Quarter Midget days.
He started on Friday qualifying faster than 16 other Seasoned drivers in the Group 6 class that he was entered in and taking P1 in all his qualifying races.
The preliminary races that he had were not good to him with some electrical gremlins, but he impressed all who were there to witness his wicked fast lap times.
At the start of his last race on Monday, from the P1 position he was hit and spun by another competitor on the first lap. Undeterred, he regained the race at the back of the pack and drove the wheels off the car to regain the lead midway thru the race. The amazing thing was his lap time of 1 minute 6.082 seconds on lap 19 (Fastest laptime in any class at Mission Raceway Park) burying the old track record of 1 minute 6.444 seconds in July of 2008. But Alex's weekend gremlins caught up to him again when his fuel delivery system failed on the last lap after he was about to lap the second place car. The Firman West Cars team owners were more than impressed with their young 27 year old driver and his first outing in their cars.

| Geartronics F1 Style Paddle Shifter System (exclusive North American dealer) |
The Geartronics F1 Style Paddle Shifter System is a custom-made air-assisted paddle shift system that was designed to Firman West Cars' specifications.
The highly specialized electronic controlled paddle shifter mounts directly to the steering wheel and operates similar to Formula 1 style paddle shifters.
The electronic control mechanism of the paddle shifter prevents over-revs though missed shifts thereby extending the life of the engine and gearbox.
